Kamran Zohoori – Biography

Kamran Zohoori is not your typical wedding photographer. In fact, he’s not your typical anything. As the son of a skilled photographer, Kamran practically grew up inside his father’s photography studio. When other children in the neighborhood were learning to ride a bike, Kamran was learning how to process film. As a teenager, he experiment with various printing techniques and developed a passion for mural design. Photography had long been a part of his childhood and finding new and interesting ways to capture, create and present images has been his passion for over 30 years now.

As the owner and primary photographer of the San Jose based wedding photography studio, Picture 2000, Kamran is widely recognized as a leader of change and a pioneer of evolution within the photographic industry. He was among the first group of professional photographers to convert to digital photography in 1999 when the method was just being introduced. Kamran’s creative techniques and visionary style are also responsible for the popular magazine style wedding albums that almost every professional wedding photographer offers today. His work has been featured in The Wedding Guide – a San Francisco Bay area magazine - and he has been a guest lecturer for several organizations on the art of wedding album design and digital photography.

Kamran’s zeal for creating beautifully personalized wedding photography is relentless and his enthusiasm for the craft is evident. But more so than his passion to create is his desire to foster an enjoyable experience for all involved. As Kamran will tell you, “There are no do-over’s for a once in a lifetime event.” And according to his most recent couples – who are almost all direct referrals from previous clients - he doesn’t need one.

Kamran believes his greatest indicator of success came earlier this year when he was commissioned to photograph the 7th wedding from one family. Not only had the family connected with his warm and open personality, but he was able to convey each couple’s unique vision, personality and style in new and completely unique ways.
